How to use in e-mail signatures

How to have an Internet Bumper Sticker® appear in your email signature.

Below are instructions for

Outlook Express for Windows
Mail for Mac OSX
Hotmail
Yahoo Mail
  (G-Mail currently doesn't allow signature images)

Outlook Express for Windows

Save the desired Internet Bumper Sticker to your hard disk. If you aren't sure how to do that, read this.

Outlook Express uses HTML to display graphics in email signatures. You don't need to know much about HTML to make the signature, but you need be able to create a basic HTML file (if you're unsure how, go here, first).

In a text or HTML editor, create the HTML file which will be the "container" for your Sticker. In this file, type only the following line of HTML code:

<img src="*path*\*stickername*">

Replace *path* and *stickername* with the actual location and name of the Sticker you have chosen. For example, if the Sticker were "wazzup.gif" and was located in a directory on your C-drive called "pictures," inside another directory called "mystuff," what you type into your file would be this:

<img src="C:\mystuff\pictures\wazzup.gif">

Save the file, naming it something like "sig.html." Then, close the file and launch Outlook Express.

MAIL for Mac OSX

In Mail, go to Preferences. Click on Signatures. Click on Add Signature to make a new one or Edit if you want to add a Sticker to an existing signature. In the text box that opens, drag or paste the Sticker/s into position. Click OK when you're done.

2. Type in the HTML shown below, replacing the red text with the appropriate URL:

</Body>
</HTML>

* To insert the signature into a message, click Add Signature on the Compose page.
* A recipient's e-mail program must support HTML in order for them to see the Sticker.

An alternate method is to include the Sticker/s in the body of your message by using this HTML in the message itself, as shown here:

<HTML>
<Body>
TYPE YOUR MESSAGE TEXT HERE
<BR>
<BR>
<img src="INSERT THE FULL URL OF THE STICKER YOU WANT TO APPEAR"></Body>
</HTML>

Note: The Sticker URL must include the full path to your image and look something like this: http://www.yourwebhost.com/yourdirectory/stickername.gif

2. Type in an HTML image code for the Internet Bumper Sticker® you want to appear. It will look something like this:

<img src="http://www.yourwebhost.com/yourdirectory/stickername.gif">.

The red text should be the actual path to the Sticker.
3. Click on the HTML button below the text box. Then hit Save.

To have the signature appear in an email message you send, click on the Use Signature and html tags allowed boxes that appear beneath the text area of the message you are composing.

Remember, don't link Stickers directly from internetbumperstickers.com. This creates bandwidth problems and will only work temporarily.
